Some finished stuff

Heute habe ich wieder fertige Sachen dabei. Yay! Wird ja auch mal wieder Zeit. 

Today I have some finished stuff for you. Yay! Finally!

In nun mehr vier Wochen ist "Ring*Con"!! Die Vorfreude steigt natürlich, aber ebenso die Panik, dass die Kostüme nicht rechtzeitig fertig sind. Gehört wohl dazu ;)

Diese Sorge muss ich nun nicht mehr allzu sehr teilen, ich habe nun alle drei Kleider fertig. Meine To Do -Liste sieht noch vor:

It's four weeks until Ring*Con. I'm really excited about it, but at the same time I get a little afraid, if we can finish all our costumes. I guess, that's part of it ;) I have all my three dresses finished right now, but I have still some things to do:

• Cape zum Rosenkleid / Cape for the Rose Dress
• Tasche zum Rosenkleid, bestickt mit dem Ornament / Bag for the rose dress, embroidered with my ornament
• Tasche zum Rohankleid, am besten auch noch bestickt / bag for the rohan dress, embroidery would be nice
• optional: Gürtel zum Rohankleid, dass aber nur, wenn die Zeit noch reich / optional: a belt for the rohan dress, If I have enough time left

Meine beste Freundin, die mich begleiten wird arbeitet im Moment fleißig am Hobbitkleid. Derzeit entsteht das Mieder, danach fehlt noch eine Schürze. 

My best friend, who is coming with me to RingCon, is working busy on a hobbit dress. At the moment she is making the bodice.

Zudem möchten wir für sie noch ein Kleid im Eowyn-Stil machen. Da gibts also noch einiges zu tun. 

We also going to make a Eowyn-style dress for her as well. So, we have still a lot to do.

Nun aber erst mal zum Rohankleid. Es wurde aus Lenda von Ikea gemacht, diese habe ich grün gefärbt. Den Schnitt habe ich selber konstruiert, aus meinem Grundschnitt den ich im Schnittkonstruktionskurs gemacht habe. Ich habe hierzu den vorderen Abnäher verlegt, einen am Armloch zugelegt und dann das Kleid nach unten hin verlängert und ausgestellt. Zudem habe ich einen neuen Ärmel konstruiert, der erste hatte viel zu viel Weite. Der neue nach diesem Buch passte dagegen viel besser ins Armloch. Ich bin ein bisschen stolz auf den Schnitt, auch wenn er einfach gehalten ist. Ich hatte immer riesen Respekt vor Schnittkonstruktion, daher habe ich in den letzten Monaten wirklich was dazu gelernt :-) 

But for now, lets look at the finished Rohan dress. It's made from Lenda, an Ikea fabric.
I've designed the pattern on my own, based on my basic pattern from the pattern construction workshop I had this summer. I pivoted a dart, closed a dart at the armhole and then lenghtend the pattern. I also constructed a new sleeve, the first one had to much width, the new one fits much better into the armhole. I used this book for the construction. I am a little proud because of this pattern, even if its really basic. I always was a little afraid of pattern construction, so I've learned a lot during the last months.

Ich finde, es braucht noch einen Gürtel, bin mir aber nicht sicher, ob das zeitlich klappt. Na schauen wir mal. Ich habe übrigens dazu schon eine schöne blonde Rohan-Mähne im Schrank ;)

I think the dress needs a belt, but I'm not sure if I can make one until the convention. We'll see. I also have nice blonde Rohan wig in my wardrobe ;)

Das zweite Projekt, das ich fertig stellen konnte, ist das Quilt-kissen. Ich habe die Teile zusammen genäht, mit einem Binding versehen und fertig wars. Ein schönes Projekt für Zwischendurch und zum üben der Free Motion-Technik. Ich hoffe, ich habe in naher Zukunft mal Zeit und Muße für ein größeres Projekt.

The second project I've finished this week is the quilted pillow. I've sewn all parts and then finished it with a binding. It was a nice little project and I was able to practise the free motion technique. Maybe in the near future, I have the time and leisure to start a bigger project.

Ich warte seit Tagen auf das wohl am sehnsüchtigsten erwarteten Nähbuchs seit langem, nämlich Gerties "new book for better sewing". Zudem hat sie seit kurzem eine eigene Schnittmuster-linie mit Butterick. Einmal ein Kleid und einen Mantel. Ich hatte Gertie's Blog letztes Jahr nach ihrem Sew Retro-Kurs bei craftsy.com entdeckt. Die Dame hat es ziemlich drauf, man kann sehr viel von ihr lernen, legt also nicht umsonst so eine "Näh-karriere" hin. Ich hoffe das Buch kommt die Tage an, laut amazon soll es frühestens am 4. da sein. 

I'm really excited for Gertie's book to arrive. She also has her own pattern line with butterick. There is a dress pattern and a nice coat. 
I came across Gertie's blog last year, after I had her sew retro-class on craftsy.com.
This lady is really talented, so it's no wonder, that she has this "sewing career" going on. I hope the book will arrive soon, amazon says, it will be here at the earliest.
